Openreach today have announced the rollout of their superfast FTTP (Fibre to the Premises)  service.

As an exchange goes live the telephone databases that we will have access to will update to indicate which areas of an exchange are actually going live. Individual street cabinets are assessed on their commercial viability, so do not assume because you are served by a particular exchange that inclusion on this list guarantees access to superfast broadband.

The Boards of Xifos Limited and Perceptive Online Limited announced today the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding to merge their businesses. The combined businesses will create a new and diverse Internet Service Provider (ISP) in the Thames Valley region dedicated to providing quality Cloud based services, backed up by first class customer service.

This merger offers important synergies; not only creating an industry leading portfolio of products, technologies and solutions, but also enhancing a team of talented and skilled professionals. The combination of Xifos’s Network and Perceptive’s Cloud Hosting expertise provides an excellent opportunity to further enhance their ability to compete effectively and deliver greater value to their customers.

While this merger obviously signifies change, at this point the two companies will continue to operate as separate legal entities but with immediate effect their customers will have access to the full range of services from the combined businesses.

They have already connected their Newbury and Reading based Data Centres to create a unique environment, affording them the opportunity to offer unrivalled business continuity services.

The merged business will have a turnover in excess of £1.5 million and with solid financial backing is set to quadruple sales within 5 years.

Xifos (AS34442) has extended its network into Europe with Amsterdam being the first POP brought online May 2012. We plan to further this by extending into Frankfurt and Paris by the end of 2012.

We have also joined AMS-IX. AMS-IX has more than 470 Interconnected IP networks and a traffic peak of over 1600 Gbps (1.6 Terabit per second), making it the largest Internet Exchange in the World.

This enables us to peer with other carriers not present in London and offer greater levels of connectivity to European customers. This also adds a greater level of possible routes to our customer which will be key in continuing to offering premium grade services.

BT Openreach today have released FTTC upgrades on another 73 exchanges.

We are please to report the planned Black Building test we carried out between 2pm and 4:30pm today has been a success. Everything transfered as expected along with full reporting back the NOC.

We are looking for an Admin Assistant / PA to work from our Reading Offices.

The role is divided between two locations in Reading so a Driving License and transport would be an advantage but not essential. Ideal candidate must have at least 1 year experience in an Admin based role.
